According to reports, a golf fan was tazered by police after yelling abuse at the world number one golfer during the Players Champions at Sawgrass, Florida. The fan, 36-year-old Travis Parmalee, was charged with "disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest". Ok, so a drunk guy shouting some insults at a guy swinging a golf club is probably not the brightest idea, but does that deserve a 50 000 volt zap from a tazer? Really?

So a tourney spokesman says after the event "Our position is and has always been that anything that disrupts the competition or the enjoyment of our fans will be dealt with accordingly, as was the case here". Dude, seriously? "Dealt with accordingly..." I think you have a possible career as a prison warden at C-Max... The 2.3 Billion Dollar question burning away in my pocket remains though: if it were not Tiger on the receiving end of the so-called "abuse", would the heckling hillbilly been zapped with a high voltage stun gun? My money is on probably not....

Side Note: Big ups to Tim Clarke winning his maiden US PGA tour victory - and not a bad event to break that "always a bridesmaid" stigma either! Well done Tim!
